Home Inspections Maryland

Maryland Home Inspectors

I am James L.  Keilson, president of Maryland Home Inspections Services, Inc., I am a Maryland and Virginia State Licensed and Certified Home Inspector. I am a native to the Maryland and Northern Virginia area and a graduate of University of Maryland (1986).  I have over 25 years of experience in residential and Commercial building and remodeling. This also includes custom commercial tenant fit up work.  I also have extensive knowledge and experience in the electrical construction, design and build of both Residential and Commercial Electrical systems. In addition to all of my hands on work experience I have also passed all of the required state of Maryland and Virginia licensing requirements as well as successfully passing the National Home Inspector Exam.  In addition I am a member in good standing of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI). As a member of InterNACHI I am constantly continuing my Home Inspection education and successfully obtaining new certifications in a wide variety of building and structural components of all types of residential and commercial structures. In addition I am also a Certified Radon and Mold Inspector and a member of the International Association of Certified Indoor Air Consultants (IAC2). This experience gives Maryland Home Inspection Services an edge inspecting not only older constructed homes and properties but also all newly constructed homes using the latest construction methods and technology.

Maryland Home Inspections Services provides top-notch inspections and analysis of your property (both Residential and Commercial) along with unparallel customer support.  We also offer many services that others can't, this combination makes Maryland Home Inspections Services a serious top notch contender in the professional quality home inspection profession.

What you get from us
We provide all clients a professionally written and prepared report after each inspection. We take great pride in the preparing of each and every report.  Our reports will include a description of the property and inspected systems, structures, and components of the dwelling, and shall identify material defects observed. The inspection report is based on the observation of the visible and apparent condition of the structure and its readably accessible components on the date and time of the inspection, and not the prediction of future conditions.

My Promise to You

Choosing the right home inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until after you hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods, and yes, different pricing. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s own effort. If you honor me by permitting us to inspect your new property, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort along with superior skills, knowledge, the latest in tools, technology and other added value items with every inspection if applicable. This I promise you.

Inspection reports will contain professional, unbiased recommendations regarding conditions reported and or recommendations for correction, monitoring or further evaluation by the appreciate professionals.
Our reports are created using the latest home inspection software that include pictures and comments specific to your home and property.

When and how do we deliver your report?
We like to take our time onsite focusing on your actual inspection in the field and then bringing our notes and collected data and findings back to the office to create your custom and complete report.  In most cases we can have your report completed and ready for you within 24 hours or less. We can deliver the report via the internet for quicker delivery. Internet report delivery is often important for out of town clients instead of messy faxes or costly overnight shipping.  We also offer a printed and professionally prepared hard copy version which can be mailed within 24 hours of the inspection or in some cases it can be hand delivered.

Full Time Home Inspectors
All Maryland Home Inspectors are Full Time Home Inspectors.  We strongly believe that a true professional Home Inspector must not be a part timer.   A full Time professional Inspector does not perform Inspections "on the side" or around their "other" jobs schedule.  The Inspector should live, sleep, eat, and breath Home Inspections.  When we do any type of Inspection for any client our only objective is to provide a thorough, unbiased inspection and a detailed report to assist you in choose the next best step to take.

All Maryland Home Inspectors Must Have a Maryland, Virginia and D.C. State License and all necessary Certifications.
As of the end of (2007), any unlicensed inspector will be operating illegally, subject to a fine. The seller is under no obligation to accept the opinion of an unlicensed inspector. At the current time there are many unlicensed inspectors in Maryland, and very few are actually certified in Radon Gas testing and Mold Testing. The Commonwealth of Virginia does not have licensing but rather Certification.  Many Virginia Home Inspectors choose not to become Certified for whatever reasons.. We choose to be 100% completely Citified in all jurisdictions where we perform our work.  We encourage you to only choose State Licensed and Stat4 Certified Inspectors.
